La mélancolie du temps is a video that investigates loss and melancholy through image and sound. The video was created using time-lapse photography. The soundtrack, Woolf Phrase from Ekkehard Ehlers’s album Politik Braucht Keinen Feind (2003), creates a mournful atmosphere and allows for the ghostly apparitions of the handkerchiefs to emerge. The image of the handkerchief is nostalgic and creates a narrative. We do not know who the handkerchiefs belong to, nor if they are owned by a particular individual.
